Nonprofit Organization Management - Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Seeing children living in impoverished communities and attending schools without basic writing and reading materials seems so unnecessary when you consider the waste in Australia and what could be recycled or donated from our own homes, businesses and schools. African schools need your consideration so that we can provide the basic learning tools that most of us take for granted. The Norkama project is founded and managed by Skye Gilligan, an Australian corporate social responsibility professional, who after visiting Malawi in February 2012, made a personal commitment to raise awareness and help improve educational opportunities for children living in impoverished communities. With our partners Rotary of Elizabeth Quay, Sarama Resources and Macknsons Transport we have been able to reach more than 5,000 students and 4 hospitals in West Africa to date. We are on target to deliver our second shipment of supplies later in 2020.Please get in touch if you have unwanted stationery (new or used), sports equipment, medical supplies or other ideas on how you might contribute to our cause.
