Virginia Marti College in Lakewood, Ohio, has the distinctive mission ofproviding visual artists and designers with a practical career-orientededucation that is interactive, fun and project-oriented.Virginia Marti’s awards two-year degrees in the following areas of study: * Digital Media * Fashion Design * Fashion Merchandising * Graphic Design * Interior DesignAt Virginia Marti, students are always working on projects. They maydesign t-shirts, direct and produce films and participate in fashionshows.After graduating from Virginia Marti, students use this experience toland jobs on film sets, for production companies and in a freelancecapacity. They become costume designers for theatres, dressmakers andgraphic designers for national and international corporations.The first step in the admissions process is to call the Virginia Martiadmissions office. After that, prospective students get to visit thecampus, where they receive a tour and get to ask questions about theschool.After these steps are completed, applicants will need to submit anapplication, transcripts, recommendation letters and a letter to theschool president stating why they would like to attend Virginia Marti.Applicants also need to take the school entrance exam. Submission of anart portfolio is encouraged but not required.Financial aid is awarded through need-based federal aid sources such asPell grants and loans to those who qualify. Virginia Marti alsoparticipates in state-funded scholarship programs and awards scholarshipsfor students in certain fields of study. Virginia Marti also honorstuition programs for veterans.
