The University of Edinburgh Southern African Society is governed by a constitution that outlines the following aims:1. To provide a platform for the Southern African community studying in Edinburgh.2. To promote Southern Africa and all of its culture and heritage.3. To be recognised as a socially responsible society that actively strives to help charities.Through hosting our annual charity ball and other various events throughout the year, the society raises funds for the Yivani Mbali Foundation, a charity which was set up in memory of our close friend and former University of Edinburgh student, Yivani Mbali Ndizana.
