Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) is a registered non-governmental human rights organisation established in January 1996 in Dharamsala (India) with the mission to protect the human rights of the Tibetan people in Tibet and promote the principles of democracy in the exile Tibetan community.TCHRD conducts regular, systematic investigations of human rights abuses in Tibet and publishes research documents on various human rights issues confronted by the Tibetan people in Tibet.TCHRD organizes various educational programmes like workshops, talk series and public discussions in an effort to empower the Tibetan exile community to play an important participatory and vigilant role in a democratic future Tibet.TCHRD attends the conferences of UN Human Rights Council and takes part in other national and international conferences to highlight the human rights situation in Tibet.
