Timok Youth Center – TOC is nonpolitical, nonprofit, nongovernmental – civil society organization, set up for an indefinite time in order to achieve its mission to actively work on the increase of the development of the civil society in Serbia, with a special focus on youth.TOC is founded on October 16th, 2004 as an organization which deals with the issues of youth policies, development and support of youth initiatives, encouragement, and guidance of active youth participation in their local communities, as well as the affirmation of healthy lifestyles among young people. Organization was established as user service for young people and has become recognizable as leading organization in the field of activities of local and regional youth coalitions. It is known as a leader in youth policy and by support to civil society organization, non-formal groups, and volunteers.TOC education program has so far included more than 25,000 young people of Southeast Serbia.TOC is a founding member of KOMS (National youth council of Serbia), NAPOR (National Association of Youth Workers Practitioners) and NKD (National Coalition for Decentralization) networks.In order to achieve its goals, TOC implements the following programs through corresponding projects and activities:Pomak (eng. MOVE) – development of local economic growth through creative industries (activism, youth policies and perspectives, creative entrepreneurship);Youth at risk – acts like public service for young people (youth ombudsman, peer education, prevention of HIV/ AIDS and sexually transmitted infections among vulnerable groups, internet and youth security, etc.);Click Green – ecological program (education, policy monitoring, safety from a natural disaster).The mission of TOC is to diminish Youth risks (health, economic, social) and Youth risk behavior, through the encouragement of creativity, the growth of activism and participation of young people on local and national levels.
