About US\\The Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Victims of Torture (TRC) is non-profit human rights organization which aims to works to promote a culture of non-violence and human rights recognition among families and communities affected by the on-going Israeli/Palestinian conflict. In particular, and promotes the recognition of international human rights and humanitarian laws which protect the rights of persons to be free from torture, violence and ill-treatment and to seek remedy for the violations and abuses that have been perpetrated against them.\TRC works with a wide segment of the Palestinian population in the West Bank , ensuring that even the most rural and marginalized communities have full access to comprehensive holistic and human rights-based support. To this effect, TRC provides treatment and rehabilitation for direct and indirect victims of torture including recently released Palestinian detainees whom have suffered from traumatic and devastating physical and psychological ailments due to torture and other ill-treatments that have been perpetrated against them. Nearly 80% of our treatment and rehabilitation support is conducted through outreach by a dedicated team of multi-disciplinary psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers whom are also highly knowledgeable human rights defenders. \Supplementing this program are two additional core programs; the Advocacy and Awareness Program seeks to strengthen the knowledge base of Palestinian society in recognizing and advocating for their inalienable rights as recognized by international laws, and by holding policy makers responsible for fulfilling the obligations of the state's signatory to several international conventions and treaties including the 4th Geneva Convention, the United Nations Convention against Torture, the Universal Declaration for Human Rights, and others which are part of the foundation for realizing a peaceful, democratic and human rights-oriented Palestinian state.
