Recognizing that the free enterprise system is the backbone of America's exceptionalism, United for a Sustainable America produces educational events, like the international series of Green Business Summits, to help the business community navigate the challenges and more importantly seize the opportunity that will accompany the sustainable business revolution.The challenges of America's future are really challenges man has always faced: finite resources being voraciously consumed by growing numbers of people. In the United States and the world, water and energy costs are rising by the moment. The Florida Chamber of Commerce predicts that by the year 2030, Florida will require 74% more energy. Florida is currently engaged in what has been described as "water wars" with neighboring states of Alabama and Georgia, due to a scarcity. Californian water is traded like oil due to its increasing drought conditions and consumption by the end user. The Department of Energy predicts that the United States will need at least 45% more energy by 2030. Scarcity of a commodity naturally leads to price increases.United for a Sustainable America's Green Business Summits are free and open to the public and share examples of businesses proactively investing in the emerging green economy, and facilitate the dialogue on how our nation's leadership in sustainability can grow our economy and create jobs.
