To provide the UK with a Civil Reserve of 5000 trained and skilled Reservists who will act as emergency responders and humanitarians to deploy in support of UK Resilience as a rapid response body in the event of a major incident or national emergency.Our guiding principles are as follows:PlanUKCR will actively engage with partners and clients to plan our commitment to supporting and enhancing resilience capacity, capability, and preparedness across the ‘whole of society'.PrepareUKCR will contribute to the UK's levels of preparedness for any crisis or emergency events and provide a partner to whom organisations and agencies can turn in times of need.RespondUKCR will provide a rapid mechanism for responding to requests for assistance. UKCR will provide surge capacity in times of need and make available significant numbers of trained and accredited Civil Reservists, who will be equipped and available 365 days per year.RecoverUKCR will provide support during the recovery phase of the disaster cycle and seek to make available personnel and resources to facilitate the recovery phase of critical incidents. This facet of the organisation's activity will form part of our training and exercising regime.The philosophy of our organisation is to train and prepare our "Civil Reservists" to embody the qualities of "Service, Discipline, and Professionalism" within the community.
