Up To Speed Media was established as a limited company in 2006 and for eight years it offered intensive, face-to-face professional training in journalism and subsequently, photojournalism, from its own training centre in Bournemouth on the UK's south coast.More than 130 students passed through Up To Speed where they were taught by working journalists and photographers for some of Britain's most prestigious media outlets on rigorous courses accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). Many of those students went on to work for national media organisations themselves while others used their editorial skills in related sectors such as public relations, social media and marketing. One former 'Utospeed-ster' even became a successful talent show contestant.From 2014, the company changed direction, adapting the focus of its activities from training to international media consultancy providing content and communications advice.
