The UPLB Economics Society is the premiere economics organization of the University of the Philippines Los Baños. As an academic organization that is geared towards promoting economic literacy and empowering its members through academic excellence and community relationship, UPLB ECONSOC envisions itself to be a community of not only bright and competent economists but also outstanding leaders equipped with unparalleled excellence, leadership and service. Throughout the years, it has given importance to the holistic formation of its members by training them to be active, concerned and responsible students in preparation for the tasks they are to perform as economists of the future. ECONSOC is presently a recognized academic organization by the Student Organizations and Activities Division of the Office of Student Affairs, UPLB. Furthermore, ECONSOC is an active member organization of the Junior Philippine Economics Society (JPES), national confederation of economics organization and the junior arm of the Philippine Economics Society. Since 1987, ECONSOC has constantly aimed for nothing less than the best for itself and for all its members. The organization spearheads some of the biggest and socially relevant events, fundraisers and quiz contests in UPLB. As a home bursting with diverse talents and creative minds, ECONSOC strives to provide its members with the best training through opportunities to learn first-hand leadership, management, and people skills. With those being the core of the organization, for 34 fruitful years, ECONSOC has been leading academic excellence, service leadership, and community service in and out of the university. Indeed, we are proud to have been producing graduates that have proven to carry the university's motto of "Honor and Excellence."
