Urmul Seemant Samiti (USS) has been working since 1994 in western Rajasthan to empower village communities towards self-reliance. The organization strives to develop a safe and enabling environment for people that ensures good health, education and employment. We have a direct presence in more than 300 villages across the districts of Bikaner and Jodhpur. With constant motivation, support, and partnerships we aim to transform these local communities towards building a sustainable model of living that is self-reliant and self-sufficient. In the education sector, we work with the most marginalized and the vulnerable children of the Thar to provide them with decent opportunities, so that they can learn and explore according to their potential. With decade-long programs and regular ground interventions, our values towards educating every child have been strengthened over the last 25 years.USS implements many programs keeping a special focus on children and women also. Apart from health and education, we have created impacts in preserving traditional livelihoods, sustainable energy, water conservation, reviving pastoralism and crafts and environmental sustainability. By building synergies, with other like-minded organizations, we have always adopted a grassroots level approach in development.
