The Violent Crime Prevention Board (VCPB) consists of a team of experienced professionals, community influencers, police and practitioners in the area of addressing violent crime; it signals a new and powerful approach to facilitating the prevention and reduction of violent crime in London and the United Kingdom.Although constituted as a board, it is in effect a movement that adopts a joined-up, solution-focused and intelligence-led strategy, based upon 8 core themes (youth, parents & family, stop & search, education, health and well being, faith, community growth, and policing). Each theme addresses the main contributory factors of violent crime and also fills an identified communications gap.Violent Crime Prevention (VCP) aims to build and promote character, leadership, conflict resolution and resilience in the community, connecting with leaders, faith-groups, police and key service providers; this is exemplified in our motto ‘Vision to Champion Progress'. It is this approach of empowering individuals and communities,' lighting a candle rather than cursing the darkness' and facilitating solutions that makes VCP a relevant important voice in modern crime prevention.VCP celebrates the many successes that young people achieve every day and works closely with young people and communities in the United Kingdom to prevent violent crime. VCP aims to provide these communities with a voice, opportunities and role models, in order to inspire success.
