With an objective of serving the student fraternity with quality teaching and research, the University has taken up several initiatives and implemented effectively that led to according of Grade 'A' status by NAAC, an autonomous organ of the UGC.CDIO Worldwide initiative has selected Vel Tech Dr.RR & Dr.SR Technical University as the FIRST MEMBER from India. Voted and declared recently by CDIO Council for its innovative engineering education framework. CDIO is an initiative of Global Educators such as MIT, Chalmers and others to reform Engineering Education to reach its destination as identified by industry and ABET,USAVel Tech has created an ecosystem that nurtures research of the students through multifarious modes. A dedicated research park with well equipped laboratories in the domains of Autonomous Vehicles, Additive Manufacturing, 3D printing, nano composites and renewable energy is established to support research projects under the aegis of national and international agencies. Vel Tech has set up Centers of Excellence / national facilities in collaboration with GTRE DRDO, ARAI, IBM, DASSAULT Systems and National Instruments for enabling industry-standard capacity building and consultancy works in advance areas like rotor dynamics, automotive engines, cyber security, computational fluid dynamics and virtual instrumentation. To foster startup culture among the young students, Vel Tech has set up technology business incubator with primary focus on supporting entrepreneurship models in E waste Management and allied domains. Vel Tech has successfully handled several projects for the agencies like DRDO, DAE, DST and CII – GITA in many inter disciplinary domains.
