Veterans Sporting Association Details
The Veterans Sporting Association (VSA) is a not for profit association created by veterans for veterans. The VSA both funds and delivers mental health initiatives to assist veterans to re-engage with peers and the community through physical training and wellbeing activities. The VSA promotes sport as a means to enhance recovery, support rehabilitation and demonstrate life beyond Service. The VSA Mission The VSA is organized to facilitate general sports training and participation for its members via a targeted sports scholarship program; The VSA shall support the education of its members with sporting coaching and administration skills including but not limited to formal education in first aid, sports psychology, sports science and all other endeavours that can be applied to general sporting or specialist sporting skills and support; The VSA shall create unity and a strong network of support amongst its members, the Australian Defence Force, current and future veterans, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Australian Olympic Committee and the wider Defence family community; The VSA shall strive towards and advancement of health by creating a welcoming environment where fitness, health, nutrition and wellbeing, and inclusive, good mental health, go hand in hand.
