Vigna Angeli winery was founded in 1898 by Arturo Marinig, who handed down his passion for the cultivation of native grapes to his heirs. The winery is based in Prepotto, near the Slovenian border, in an area which is particularly well suited to vine growing; in particular, to Schioppettino and Ribolla Gialla grapes, which continue to be grown with the same passion. This land is difficult to farm, but it is at the same time rich of fine qualities. All vineyards are cultivated with low environmental/biological impact. The management and processing in the country are carried out manually by the brothers Marinig Edi and Maurizio, in order to cure and to better follow the life cycle of the vine plants. Extreme care is taken and the harvest is done manually too. The company cultivates the typical local wines of the area: in addition to the Friulano, Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, Vigna Angeli produces the Ribolla Gialla and the Schioppettino (Ribolla Nera), typical wine of the area of Prepotto, to which, thanks to its origin and its typicalness, has been recognized the sub-area of production of the "Schioppettino of Prepotto". Recently, the company, in addition to the production of still wines, given the market demand, has introduced the production of the Ribolla Gialla sparkling Brut, the sparkling Extra Dry "MOT" and the rosè "Osè".
