Food Production - San Teodoro, Sardegna, Italy
It was the beginning of the 70s when Basilio Pintaudi, a farmer from Piraino, a little town in northern Sicily, founded the Cantina Vini Pintaudi and started the production of white, red and rosé wines that were originally sold in bulk in the local market. Over the years, the activity of the Vini Pintaudi company grows, enough to push Basilio to move the winery to a larger location, the one where it is currently located, and to start the production of monovarietal wines such as Nero d'Avola, Chardonnay , Insolia and Syrah. In 1997, after the death of its founder, the reins of the winery were taken over by Basilio's wife, daughter and son-in-law who decided to start bottling and invest in the purchase of a new highly advanced bottling plant.Since 2017, the management of the winery has passed into the hands of his grandson Basilio Catrini who has perfected himself on bottled wines and has tried to create a true corporate brand with the latest line of A Maré, Masciné, Davé and Ciaulé. In particular, in 2018, Mascinè won the silver medal at the First National Wine Competition "Venere Callipigia".That of the Cantina Vini Pintaudi is a story of heart, tradition and love for the land and its fruits that is combined with innovation and technology to offer high quality wines on the market with the authentic taste and strong and distinctive character of Sicily.
