Viña Santa Marina is a winery founded in 1999 by Alvaro de Alvear, heir to a family wine tradition that began in 1729. It's currently run by the second generation. Located in the foothills of the Sierra de la Moneda, a few kilometers from Merida and adjacent to the La Plata Highway, it is a terroir winery that produces and elaborates exceptional gold medal winning wines in dozens of contests, in and out of Spain, as well as several outstanding ones granted by Robert Parker (The Wine Advocate). Also, due to its wonderful location next to its vineyards and the Mediterranean forest of oaks, cork trees and naturalflora of the mountain range, it is a unique place to celebrate weddings, and other social and business events. On request, we are able to organize tours of the vineyard and winery for groups, ending with an informative wine tasting.
