Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit, faith-based organization which serves more than 28,000 Pennsylvanians each year. It operates 27 programs in the Commonwealth, serving veterans and their families; persons coping with disabilities or severe and chronic mental illness; at-risk youth and children dealing with behavioral challenges and educational deficits; people in emergency situations; elderly individuals and couples on fixed incomes; families with limited incomes; and pregnant teens and teenage mothers, among others in need. Our innovative human services directly address the quality of life in Pennsylvania by meeting the material, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals; by strengthening families, and by building healthier, more productive, and more compassionate communities for all of us. We remain committed to nurturing the human spirit of those we serve by providing the support, skills and tools that lead to individual empowerment, self-sufficiency, and stability. Our organization strives daily to help change the lives of Pennsylvania's most vulnerable. Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania is the charity that always steps forward when the task is most difficult.
