The Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment was founded in 1976 as a private non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation to address the economic needs of underserved Asians, newly arrived Southeast Asian refugees and immigrants. In its 35 years of history, PACE has assisted over 700,000 low-income families of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Our clients reflect the increasing ethnic diversity of our targeted communities. PACE is recognized as a leader in addressing problems of poverty and economic inequity of the ethnic and immigrant communities. PACE has a reputation of being responsive to community needs and is known for creating innovative solutions to the myriad challenges faced by its target population.PACE programs now operate in over 40 different locations in Los Angeles County with headquarters located in the city of Los Angeles. While PACE has retained much of its focus on employment, we now tackle the full array of problems and challenges that speak to the quality of life of low income, minority and immigrant people throughout the region. Additionally, more than 80% of our staff can speak more than one language, allowing them to assist our clients in over 40 different languages and dialects such as Spanish, Korean, Burmese, Vietnamese, Khmer (Cambodian), Tagalog (Filipino) and Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and Teo Chiu/Chu Chow).
