Winslow Unified School District #1 serves the community of Winslow and a number of its outlying areas. It is comprised of five school locations: Jefferson Elementary (1-2), Bonnie Brennan Elementary (K, 3-4), Washington Elementary (5-6), Winslow Junior High School (7-8), and Winslow High School (9-12). Winslow is rural town of approximately 10,800 residents and is located on the East-West route of Interstate 40 between Flagstaff and Holbrook. The community, at an elevation of 4,850, lies in the Little Colorado River Valley on the Western border of Navajo County. Winslow is also a border town/school for the Navajo and Hopi Reservation. Winslow has a diverse community which includes: transportation, tourism, manufacturing, trade and retail business.
