The mission of the YWS is to:- Support and assist women and their families in empowering themselves so that they can develop their goals, achieve wellness, enjoy equality and be recognized for the contribution they make in the community;- Recognize the needs of women and their families, and identify the means to meet those needs through program development and funding initiatives; and- Provide a safe and nurturing physical place for women and their families to meet and access programs and services.The vision of the YWS is that there is a permanent, unfettered forum for women to:- Maintain their voice in the North;- Nurture and celebrate cultural diversity; and- Live healthy and empowered lives, enriching themselves, their families and their communities.
