SportTracks recognizes that athletes are recording more data than ever. The couch-to-5k groups use GPS-enabled smartphones to track and share their workouts, while performance athletes are using dedicated devices, heart rate monitors, and power sensors to train efficiently and avoid injury. This rapid accumulation of data can be overwhelming, but SportTracks provides insight that matters through custom analysis and an athlete-centered design. From logging workouts to detailed analytics and community support, SportTracks gives athletes the tools and resources necessary to safely build the strength and stamina to achieve their goals. SportTracks started in 2006 out of a personal disappointment with existing software solutions to match the impressive hardware advancements. More GPS devices were coming out at lower prices than ever before, but the data being collected was difficult to understand, either giving too much detail, or hiding learning opportunities in over-simplification. SportTracks was supported entirely by donations from enthusiastic supporters until the release of SportTracks 3.0 in 2009. The success of SportTracks has always been built on listening to users and putting their knowledge to use. This philosophy includes adding plug-in support, allowing 3rd party developers to take their passion and contribute to the SportTracks community. In 2012, SportTracks recognized the trend toward mobile-first design, releasing SportTracks.mobi, a cloud platform leveraging cutting edge technology and the latest in design. As startup out of Durham, North Carolina, SportTracks is in a competitive industry, complete with multi-national corporations, venture-backed companies and niche applications. While the landscape can seem daunting, SportTracks has and will remain dedicated to giving athletes the tools to perform at their highest levels of ability.
