The mission of ÉnergieRich is to advance opportunities for rural African communities to establish durable energy access through the use of solar energy. Our goal is to produce sustainable development and job creation by providing a link between communities and clean sources of energy. In partnership with Burkina Énergie & Technologies Appropriées, ÉnergieRich's first project is to integrate creative uses of solar energy into Burkina Faso. We facilitate access to photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and also provide technical training to rural populations. We are currently exploring a new initiative to engage rural populations in meaningful and hands-on ways to facilitate the local deployment of solar/renewable energy related capabilities. Integral to our model - local populations are not only the beneficiaries of the project but also assume responsibility for directing the project. Additionally, we are actively integrating members of the African Diaspora into the process of developing ideas and practical means for creating sustainable energy development; with the goal of establishing an international network supporting sustainable energy access in Africa. ÉnergieRich works in partnership with UCLA African Studies Center. We are fiscally sponsored by Diaspora Institute.
