Little Rivers Health Care, Inc. ("LRHC") is an independent 501(c) (3) non-profit and charitable Community Health Center (CHC) with sites in Bradford, E. Corinth, and Wells River, Vermont. LRHC serves a region designated as a medically underserved population (MUP), as well as a health professional shortage area (HPSA), and receives enhanced FQHC (federally qualified health center) reimbursement from Medicare and Medicaid and 330 grant funds from the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC)/ HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration). As a Community Health Center, LRHC is governed by a volunteer, community board of directors. As federally required, at least 51% of LRHC's board members are users of the LRHC's services. LRHC is directed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who reports directly to the LRHC Board of Directors. LRHC provides a sliding fee scale for all services and no patient is turned away due to an inability to pay as defined by the Federal Poverty Guidelines. As part of its ongoing charitable mission, LRHC frequently provides free health screening clinics and community health care education seminars and workshops.LRHC's service area towns include: Bradford, Chelsea, Corinth, Fairlee, Groton, Newbury, Norwich, Orange, Ryegate, Strafford, Thetford, Topsham, Tunbridge, Vershire, Washington, and West Fairlee.Services provided by LRHC include, but are not limited to: well adult and adolescent care, well child care, urgent office care, in-hospital care, home care, obstetrics and gynecological care, counseling services, and rural outreach. Case management, social services and oral health are assured through linkages with other service providers in LRHC's service area.
