In 2008, John and his small group of enterprising young & passionate coffee loving blokes came together to launch the first Leaf Café & Restaurant in North Sydney. In the following year, John opened his second store in Berry Street, North Sydney.Our combined affection to the magic beans was insatiable, and finally in 2011, with the well-timed addition of our coffee roaster, we found a striking roastery in Brookvale to start our Signature Blend.The SCAA eventually approved the word "Specialty" for our blend; a great accolade given only to the finest high scoring blends and an honour we are very proud of.Our roast works expanded largely in Sydney, opportunities started revealing themselves as our Blend gained popularity and so we "Levelled Up" -Spun our name from Leaf Café & Restaurant to Leaf Café & Co, opening up opportunities for like-minded coffee buffs to join the team. In the end, an innovative franchise system was created so that our caffeinated artistry could delight even more coffee lovers all around the world and allow our fellow coffee aficionados a chance to live the coffee dream. Our team continuously researches the café industry and reads market trends, experimenting with various teas, fruits, coffees and food. evolving in partnership with chefs from prestigious backgrounds, well known in the hospitality industry and bring to the table a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion. We also work with tea experts to create unique and refreshing tea beverages to suit every palate.We're not a run of the mill, rubber-stamped franchised coffee chain. Each and every new store is uniquely designed with an emphasis on catering for the local community. Our design team carefully craft store plans, create wonderful ambience and construct a gorgeous interior individually for every store. Every store has its own identity, feel and still retains the core Leaf Café & Co heart.
