The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society, founded in 1969, is a private, nonprofit that funds educational programs and family events at Buttonwood Park Zoo. The BPZS is responsible for the operation of the Bears Den Cafe, North Woods gift store, train and carousel rides, memberships, marketing, special events, fundraising, grant writing and the volunteer/internship programs at the zoo. All the proceeds from the BPZS's activities are used to support the Zoo's mission.Zoo Mission: The Buttonwood Park Zoo is dedicated to preserving the future of wildlife by creating engaging and educational experiences that connect the community to the natural world.The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society is partially funded by the Mass Cultural Council.
