University of the Southwest was established in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1962 and provides numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Points of Interest: 1. Athletics - USW is a Division 1 NAIA school and a member of the Red River Athletic Conference. We have one numerous conference championships in several sports as well as a National Championship in Track & Field in Spring, 2010. Within the last two years, USW has earned the Highest Overall Athletic GPA in the conference and both Men's and Women's programs have been received the RRAC Sportsmanship Award. 2. Academics - USW believes in encouraging students to prepare for life through faith, individual responsibility and initiative. Students who participate in student government, campus ministry, speech and debate, and SIFE learn the skills they need to be successful contibutors in the communities where they will live and work. 3.
