Here at Active Recovery TMS, we are excited to bring Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to the Portland metro area. TMS is a non-invasive treatment for patients whose depression is not well-controlled with medication or who experience side effects from antidepressants. TMS uses electromagnetism to stimulate specific groups of neurons in the prefrontal cortex. This stimulation, over the course of standardized treatment protocols, can result in a decrease in depression symptoms.
