AKKD family is one of the oldest and most prominent families engaged in business in Damascus; the city that is known as the "Gate of History". The late Anwar Akkad established his first factor for garment production in 1935. 5 years followed, he established another company trading in woolen cloth and suiting; and In 1950, the factory started producing uniforms and related accessories for the Syrian army.
