President at Sacred 7 Rainforests and Oceans International - San Jose, California, United States
Sacred 7 Mission: Preserve and restore sacred rainforests and oceans of the world by creating value through medical research and the development of social and sustainable programs. The world is losing almost 100,000 acres of tropical rainforest a day. At that rate, the rainforest will be gone by 2050 - in our lifetime. The tropical rainforests are critical to life on earth. Often referred to as the lungs of the world, these rainforests maintain clean air and water, at the same time they help regulate the worlds climate. The tropical rainforests and oceans are the core of our ecosystem and are vital for mankind's existence. The rainforest is host to 50% of the Earth's plant, animals and micro-organisms, yet less than 1% of these species have been studied. Furthermore, 25% of western pharmaceuticals are derived using a plant or enzyme from the rainforest. Scientists believe these rainforests and oceans may hold the cure to some of the world's most fatal diseases, like cancer. The ocean is home to millions of species that have not been discovered or analyzed for medicinal purposes.
