The sports surface division of CenStar Coatings was formed to address the need for maintenance of the unitary rubber safety surfaces used in playgrounds. Our founder has over 17 years installing these types of surfaces. Seeing the effects of the sun, wear of use and a lack of maintenance programs, he set out to do something that would help the playground owner extend the life of these surfaces. One very important area of concern was the high surface temperatures that often occur during the summer months creating a hazard to our children on the playground. CoolPlay™ and CoolTile™ very effectively deal with this issue. Most owners were unaware of the importance of a maintenance program and the only available products were solvent based products that no one liked to use and are harmful to the environment. Censtar has developed affordable maintenance products like ClearPlay™ that provide protection and are easier to use and safe for the environment and the installer.
