Those employees decided to collaborate to create a place where they and fellow employees could save and borrow money safely, confidentially, and at fair rate of return. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, DFCU is owned by our members with a volunteer Board of Directors that is elected by our members, meaning there are no stockholders to pay.
