Nonprofit Organization Management - Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India
"Good governance is the wheel which sets in motion the cart of effective government."India has resources in various forms and proportions to cater to the needs of its citizen. From the mountains to the rivers, and from the coastal plains to the vast flora, each natural resource has the capacity to catalyze and support various activities, whether economic, political, social, strategic, or other(s). However, even with such vast expanse of resources, India has not been able to fully capitalize these to its advantage even after 7 decades of independence, the main reason being lack of transparency in implementing policies.Good governance in any system is mainly characterized by two factors, transparency and accountability. One of the biggest challenges which any institutionalized framework faces are developing models to increase transparency and accountability. If left unchecked, it can multiply resource misuse and provide for leakages in the system leading to resource divergence. For a country like India, it is of significant importance that collective action must be undertaken to foster the goals of Good Governance. Participation of the civil society and its components has an immense role to play.AGAM as a center to promote good governance, finds its genesis in the premise that government needs the support of the civil society to effectively implement developmental schemes and achieve goals of good governance holistically. AGAM is non governmental organization registered under Society Registration Act 1860, run and managed by volunteers .The prime objective of AGAM is to raise level of governance in the area of not limited to Education , Health ,Environmental Protection ,Rural Development, Law and Justice.
