Amuno Rural Hub, formerly Amuno Foundation is a youth-led organization educated, healthy and employed community of children, and youth. Through child education sponsorship, hygiene & health sensitization, skills/livelihood development.Bukedea District is not exceptional in terms of poverty, with 54% of the population in absolute poverty, and 20% malnourished. – UNDPMajority of Bukedea district is characterized by; Inadequate and unsafe water supply in most villages, making thousands vulnerable to waterborne diseases; Low quality primary and secondary education as a result of poor and inadequate teachers and poorly equipped and overcrowded schools; Ill-equipped tertiary institutions; Ill-equipped hospitals, health centers, and other health facilities; High incidence of destitute children who lost parents through disease or war; Food shortages and malnutrition in the drought and flood-hit areas; High childhood marriages; High poverty levels; Dependence on firewood for cooking; and Heavy reliance on agriculture a means of livelihood.Our main values are; Empowerment: To improve the well-being of people through sustainable livelihoods and interventions in areas that pose the biggest hurdle. Health: To improve the quality of health & hygiene services that are pinpointed as a detrimental challenge that the people of Bukedea face. Education: To use education as the key to breaking the cycle of generational poverty within families and the community as a whole. Employment: Skill development tackles unemployment by tapping into people's creativity and potential, inspiring job creators and entrepreneurs.
