Wine & Spirits - Paris, Île-de-France, France
Armagnac CASTAREDE is the oldest Trading House of Armagnac in France, established in 1832. \\In 2012, we celebrated our 180th anniversary, today Florence Castarède runs the company she represents the sixth generation.\\"We have a wide collection of vintages (the oldest one is vintage 1888). \\Our House is settled in the heart of the Bas Armagnac with a vineyard of 16 hectares. We produce Armagnacs with the following grape varieties : Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, Colombard and very soon Baco. \\You can discover our historical castle founded in 16th century (Château de Maniban, Mauléon d'Armagnac). And we have opened a show-room in the heart of Paris (140 Boulevard Haussmann 75008). \\Our Armagnacs are aged in local wooden casks. Our House's style is extremely mellow because of the extra ageing in oak. Our blends and vintages regularly win top competition prizes."\\Bottling dates for vintages are shown on the back labels to give a true indication of the ageing and the woody character.\\An Overall ageing policy\Raised according to the ageing process perpetuated at Castarède cellars, the non-vintaged qualities as VS, VSOP, XO and Hors d'Age all go beyond legal ageing.\\An International renown\Beyond the famous restaurants and stores in Paris (Fouquet's, Maxim's, Hédiard, La Tour d'Argent, Taillevent, Le Crillon, Ledoyen, Ducasse, Fauchon, Le Carré des Feuillants, Michel Guérard) and London (Le Gavroche, The Waterside Inn), Radecki Restaurant in Szczecin, the connoisseurs never fail to pass along the duty free shops of Heathrow International Airport in London and Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport to purchase their favourite vintages.\The press has always regarded Castarède House as a very high-grade company.
