Our HistoryThe Boys Initiative was founded in 2008 by a group of researchers, community leaders and other individuals involved in boys issues who believed that such an effort was needed and could play an important role in society.Our MissionThe mission of The Boys Initiative is to inform the public and recruit advocates who will actively help us implement solutions to the issues and trends affecting the well-being and success of boys and young men in our nation and around the world.We champion efforts to close the gender achievement gap in education where most boys perform below girls in every subject. We support and train parents and educators who desire to meet the mental, emotional, academic, and developmental needs of boys and young men. We encourage and equip community leaders who want to become vocal advocates and actively lobby legislators and local officials to enact policies that will equally benefit boys as well as girls.
