Nonprofit Organization Management - Dhaka, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh
Inspired by the concept of crisis informatics, the 'COVID-19 Digital Crisis Mapping Tool' is a volunteer-driven collaborative effort to respond to the humanitarian crisis. The map is a bridging connection among three different stakeholders, 1. The volunteers who are distributing, 2. The organizations who are planning and managing data, and 3. The people in need of relief or assistance. A mobile-based demand reporting from the ground, from the volunteer and from the people visualizes the whole process in a map. This platform facilitates identifying locations and people (families/individuals) who need an immediate and targeted response which will enable organizations to allocate the limited resources optimally and manage the disaster relief and emergency assistance efficiently. Based on geo location and types of demand, the organization can ensure proper distribution, data reporting, and of course accountability to its funders and donors. The humanitarian crisis and the response are mapped and visualized in near real-time by volunteers and organizations using a variety of media including SMS, Web, Email, Phone Call, Mobile App, Twitter, Facebook, Need Assessment Surveys, and Situation Reports.
