The vision of the Danish Nutrition Science Centre (DANSC) is to be an international knowledge and research centre within nutrition, diet and health for both patients and healthy individuals. The overall aim is to:• Prevent and treat disease-related malnutrition• To perform research in food, nutrition, nutritional care aspects and human nutrition- and patophysiology• Create the foundation for development and innovation in the bioactive potential of food and food components and sustainable meal concepts • Perform applied research in nutrition in relation to disease and aging in all settings• To create life-long promotion of health for all through better composition of foods and dietsAalborg University hospital, Aalborg University, Aalborg Municipality, and The North Denmark Region have a long tradition of creating evidence-based knowledge regarding the relation between nutrition, food and disease within public institutions as well as in cross-sectional activities including different municipalities, regions, industry and health authorities in collaboration with national and international partners. DANSC is established by Aalborg University hospital and financially supported by The North Denmark Region.
