The Enterprise Research Centre is an independent research centre which provides trusted, robust and independent commentary on SME research and policy, led by Warwick and Aston Business Schools. ERC's research activity is divided into six research themes: Theme 1: Entrepreneurial Ambition and Growth Theme 2: Entrepreneurial Leadership, Capabilities and Growth Theme 3: Diversity and SMEs in the Emerging Economy Theme 4: Finance and Growth Theme 5: SME Innovation, exporting and growth – An Embedded Perspective Theme 6: Firm Dynamics, Job Creation and Productivity Growth ERC funding is provided by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and, through the British Bankers Association (BBA), by the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC, HSBC Bank PLC, Barclays Bank PLC, Bank of Scotland PLC and Lloyds TSB Bank PLC.
