The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the biggest student association in Europe. It was born in 1989 and legally registered in 1990 for supporting and developing student exchanges and youth mobility.We are present in more than 800 Higher Education Institutions from 39 countries. The network is constantly developing and expanding. We have around 13.500 active members taking care of international students as volunteers. ESN volunteers offer their services to approximately 180.000 international students every year.ESN is operating on three levels: local, national, and international. ESN EPFL is one of the swiss sections of ESN operating in Lausanne. We provide advice to incoming exchange students before their arrival in Switzerland, organise numerous cultural, sport and festive events during the semester, encourage intercultural exchange between exchange and local students, and promote mobility towards local students.
