We brew traditional kombucha in small batches in the Ottawa Valley.What is kombucha?Kombucha is a naturally probiotic fermented tea infused with fruit or herbs for various flavour options. It is slightly carbonated, sweetly acidic, and has many health benefits such as beneficial acids and probiotic bacteria for a healthy gut microbiome. Although Kombucha has been around since ancient times, it is more recently gaining popularity as a healthy alternative to sugary beverages. Born from a love of fermentation (and we mean we've fermented just about EVERYTHING), Laurentian Brew Kombucha began with a simple trade of kefir grains for a kombucha SCOBY (the culture). As our SCOBYs grew, so did our customers. We enjoyed introducing kombucha to friends and family and soon decided to head to the Deep River Farmers' Market to bring our freshly brewed booch to the area. Much to our surprise, Laurentian Brew Kombucha was such a hit that we renovated a commercial space and opened our brewery in November 2016, ensuring an abundance of kombucha was available to the Ottawa Valley. With over 20 flavours in total, we have a variety of tasty kombuchas and enjoy working with local businesses to make unique flavours. The Great Eight 500 ml bottles were launched in April 2017 and we expanded from one on-tap retail location in November 2016 to 25 retail locations by Summer of 2017. We keep our kombucha happy and healthy, brewing in small batches using natural methods. Our kombucha is made with 100% organic ingredients, is always raw, never pasteurized, and our 500 ml bottles carbonate naturally. We are so grateful for the support the Ottawa Valley has shown us, and hope to continue to grow and spread the booch love far and wide.
