Founded in early 2012, Local Energy Network is a group of motivated and qualified individuals who want to make a difference. Our general ambition is to improve access to modern energies in developing countries by supporting local energy resources as an alternative to large, environmentally harmful and financially risky infrastructure projects. We focus on small-scale hydropower project that are promoted by local communities and will serve local economic development. We support these projects throughout all phases of their development by bringing high level advisory in the fields of:- Technical feasibility- Institutional & legal set up- Economic & financial viability- Environmental & social impacts, mitigation measures- Fund raising for construction- Energy saving measures
