Michalis Cholevas is a multi-instrumentalist playing the Ney, Saz, Tarhu and Yayli tanbour.He studied Classical, Jazz, Byzantine and Ottoman Music at the music high school of Palliniand the municipal Conservatory of Piraeus, Greece. Enraptured by physics, he quit music for 7 years and followed Bachelor and Master coursesin Natural studies and Physics and he found his way back to music after a course on Ney withthe great teacher and musician Omer Erdogdular. Michalis was lucky enough to study alsowith Erdal Erzincan, Kudsi Erguner, Marios Mavroedis and George Kontrafouris. This lead toa Master in Music and a research project of Harmony and Turkish music at Rotterdam Conservatoryunder a scholarship of the Dutch Ministry of Education During his musical life, Michalis performed and collaborated with several artists including Louisiana Red,Angelo Bandalamenti, the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, Apollon Musagete Quartett, Kostantia Gourziand George Kontrafouris.
