Nonprofit Organization Management - Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom
The North East Initiative on Business Ethics was established in May 2013 as an independent regional resource with an aspiration to become a focal point for good business behaviour. Its formation braided the work of Newcastle University Business School's Ethics Forum (and its community of people interested and involved in business ethics) with research and training undertaken by the London-based Institute of Business Ethics and the interests and faith lead of the City Centre Chaplaincy and The People's Kitchen. Together we felt there needed to be a north east organisation that focused on business ethics and brought people together to learn from each other, share good practice and make a difference in the community. The coming together of three strong interest groups combined with the ethical leadership of our cross-sector and influential steering group members enables the NIBE community to offer high profile and thought provoking events that provide an opportunity for organisations to learn from each other. Our aim is to help people work together to transform working environments and promote businesses as worth and wealth creators. At present we have no funding but we hope you will join us in our endeavour to make the North East a place to do business ethically and do what we can to influence the environment we all live and work in.Each day we are faced with choices some of which challenge us ethically. How do we make decisions about how we behave? How do we talk through moral and ethical dilemmas? Where could we find help or a listening ear? Perhaps at NIBE or perhaps not but we're willing to give it a try, are you?
