In the short time Phillip Mathangani spent in this life, he had a tremendous impact on the individuals around him. His smile and his desire to not only succeed for himself, but to see those around him succeed as well continue to be inspirations to us all. It is only fitting that even in his absence, his kindness carries on and it is our hope that by virtue of this scholarship, his warmth of heart shines through to touch the life of a fellow NRHS graduate, helping them to succeed in their educational endeavors.In his memory and honor, the Phillip Mathangani Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to a graduating North Rockland High School senior who plans on attending an accredited four-year university in the coming school year. The scholarship is to be used for education expenses including, but not limited to, books and room and board. The award recipient will exhibit the depth of character, motivation to succeed and warmth of heart that Phillip displayed at North Rockland and beyond.
