Philanthropy - Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
The Rotaract Club of Burleigh Heads is a group of young adults aged 18-30 that empower young professionals to create a positive change in their local community and around the world. Our club chartered in July 2013, with the shared goals of: making a difference in our community and allowing life long friendship to flourish. We are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads and are located along the lovely Burleigh beach on the Gold Coast, in district 9640. Our club is a unique platform for members and friends to engage on in order to have an impact on not only the community but also themselves. We participate in a variety of activities suited to our members including professional development events such as RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), RYTS (Rotary Youth Transition Seminar), ARC (Australian Rotaract Conference) and many training seminars throughout our district. Whilst events such as these provide members with the necessary skills to be our future leaders we also believe that having the ability to achieve something is limited without a good support network and friends. Thus, our club places a large emphasis on getting to know each other through social events. These include ice-skating, karaoke, movie nights, and frequent trips to get ice cream after meetings. This close-knit nature of our club sets the foundation for our events to help our local community and international friends in any way possible. Our club often holds events that allow us to fundraise money for important causes we are passionate about. We hold regular meetings every second and fourth Monday of the Month at Burleigh Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, Mowbray Park, which commence at 6:45pm. If you are interested in finding out more about our club, feel free to visit our website or send us an email with any enquiries.
