Steinfels is Switzerland's oldest and largest wine auction house. We have a team of recognised wine experts who are happy to share their specialist knowledge with you.Our firm's history begins in 1975, when the visionary Dr. Eric Steinfels realised his ambition of establishing a wine auction house. A series of spectacular auctions soon followed, such as the sale of wine cellar of the Château de Penthes - owned by the son of the founder of Hispano Suiza - in Geneva, enabling the then fledgling company to attract significant attention both in Switzerland and elsewhere. Thereafter an ever-growing number of wine lovers entrusted us with their precious collections, and our accurate valutations and the auction proceeds we generated on our clients' behalf rapidly established the excellent reputation which our auction house continues to enjoy to this day. Dr. Eric Steinfels put his substantial expertise into running the firm with great success until 2002, when he retired, selling the firm to Marc Fischer and his sister Corinne. Since then, not only has the auction house gained in renown, it has also grown larger. Since our acquisition of Wolfi's Weinauktionen in 2006, we have been the largest wine auction house in Switzerland.In 2009 we moved our business premises to Pfingstweidstrasse 6 in 8005 Zurich, close to the landmark Prime Tower in Zürich's newly fashionable Züri-West.
