Higher Education - Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa
Student Business Council, is a non-profit organisation which operates in institutions of higher learning. Currently based in South Africa. Our main aim is to introduce a new entrepreneurial culture in institutions of higher learning, this came after observation that, the more graduates seek employment rather than create it, the more unemployment goes higher. We want to build a nation of producers rather than consumers only.To achieve this SBC will host different programs which seek to introduce students to entrepreneurship and provide much needed opportunities for the students to practice their skills. SBC works with different organisations and firms in collaboration to achieve this. Through our different competitions, we will provide possible funding for different small businesses. SBC also has a mentor-ship which seeks to provide a sustainable support structure for young entrepreneurs that emerge while in university, and this will also benefit those that participate in the executive through leadership mentor-ship.Being founded in 2015, SBC now exists in over 7 Universities countrywide, and continues to bring the much needed change in approaching entrepreneurship.
