Sunayra is invested in providing access and outlets for creativity to young people in Sri Lanka so they can move forward - individually, socially, and economically. We realized Sri Lankan youth are at a critical juncture - a generation that grew up against a backdrop of conflict and natural disaster is now on the cusp of adulthood. This means that giving these young people access and opportunity will drive social change, motivate civic engagement, and innovate industry. We believe in the transformative power of art because it affords a direct path to creative, critical, and innovative thinking - eventually acting as a harbinger of much needed social change. Our programming is done within a culturally tailored framework and in partnership with locally-based grassroots organizations.
