Bob Brown Foundation takes Action for Earth with a vision to protect Australia's wild & scenic natural places of ecological & global significance.Our Foundation is a non-profit association promoting the protection & enhancement of, & the provision of information & education about:• The wild & scenic beauty of Tasmania;• The ecological integrity of Australia;• The happiness of humanity on Earth.Right now our key focus is on protecting the stunning takayna / Tarkine wilderness in North West Tasmania. The Tarkine is a vast wilderness area including Australia's largest tract of cool temperate rainforest, wild windswept beaches, extensive buttongrass plains & pristine wild rivers. It is of great significance to Tasmania's Aboriginal people & a relict of the ancient continent of Gondwana, related to temperate forests in Patagonia & the South Island of New Zealand.Our campaign for takayna / Tarkine is calling for its recognition as a National Park & World Heritage Area by 2020.We are also campaigning to:• stop the proposed Carmichael coal mine in Queensland ('Stop Adani' campaign);• save the critically endangered Swift Parrot & the habitat they depend on for survival;• protect the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area from logging, mining & inappropriate tourism development;• end draconian laws targeting peaceful protest with huge fines & prison sentences;• support calls for the Great Forest National Park in Victoria;• stop oil exploration in the Great Australian BightFor more information & to find out how you can get involved, please get in touch with us at:• contact@bobbrown.org.au• (03) 6294 0620• http://www.bobbrown.org.au
